Clutch Matt Prater earns another NFC award for Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell highly appreciated Clutch Matt Prater's performance in this season. He said Clutch Matt Prater is quite an unusual guy, just in terms of his ability to come out and pressure situations and kick the ball some distance and kick accurately. He also expressed Prater is one of those guys that’s capable of making a difference in every single ballgame and he's so proud of Prater and glad to have him. Matt Prater, Detroit Lions kicker who is NFC special teams player of the week for the second time this season after he made three field goals, including the game winner, against the Minnesota Vikings on Thanksgiving. In Detroit Lions' first win over the Vikings this season, Prater tied the game with a 58-yarder at the end of regulation. He was also named special teams player of the week because of that game. Matt Prater has made four winning kicks in the final two minutes this season. The coach Caldwell said that Prater is the third Lion to win a player-of-the-week award multiple times in the same season, joining Barry Sanders and Jason Hanson.
